Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has directed the Rupnagar district administration to take steps for checking pollution in the Sutlej river.

Badal reportedly issued these directions in his informal meeting with senior officials of the district administration, including Deputy Commissioner Priyank Bharati and SSP L.K.Yadav, during his brief halt at the local Canal Rest house last evening on his way to Jalandhar.
